Thank you for your interest in the Pharmacy Residency Programs at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). The deadline for all pharmacy residency applications is January 1st of each year. Please be sure to carefully review the qualifications and required application materials below. To QUALIFY as a pharmacy residency candidate, applicants MUST meet the following requirements.

1. Graduates of an ACPE-accredited program: Applicants must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)- accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
2. ASHP Resident Matching Program: Tampa General Hospital’s residency programs participate in the Resident Matching Program. Applicants MUST register to participate in the match. To register for the match and for further information on the ASHP Resident Matching Program. This pharmacy residency program agrees that no person at this site will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
3. Work Authorization/Permit: To qualify for the pharmacy residency program, all applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
4. Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program for a PGY2 program: To qualify for a PGY 2 pharmacy residency program, applicants must complete an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program. Applicants who have not completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency wishing to apply to a PGY2 program must obtain permission to register for the Resident Matching Program. Information and procedures to obtain permission to participate in the Match can be found on the National Matching Services’ website.

6. On-Site Interview: An interview with Tampa General Hospital is required. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their application. At this time we will be conducting virtual interviews for the year 2023. Information regarding format will be provided with interview invitation.

• Basic demographics: Applicants will be required to submit basic demographics including address, phone, email, etc.
• Verified transcripts: As many university registrar offices will be closed during the holiday season, you may submit a transcript that does not include the fall semester’s course work. A current, official transcript will then be required prior to or on the day of interview.
• Personal statement/Letter of Intent: Describe why you have decided to pursue this pharmacy residency program and what you hope to gain from residency training.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Three PhORCAS reference forms: Prefer at least one reference from clinical rotation preceptor and one from an employer or faculty. Reference writers must complete the PhORCAS reference form in the system.
• Extracurricular Information: Applicants will be asked to enter extracurricular activities (e.g. awards, leadership roles, presentations, publications, work experience, volunteer/community service, etc) into P
