The Cancer Institute at Tampa General provides comprehensive, innovative care in one of Florida’s leading academic medical centers via groundbreaking therapies and advanced diagnostic imaging tools to diagnose, evaluate and treat all forms of cancer.
Our nationally renowned cancer physicians offer a highly coordinated range of multidisciplinary specialties such as hematologic malignancies, stem cell and cellular therapies, neuro-oncology, thoracic, breast, colorectal, urologic and gynecologic oncology. Advanced subspecialties are available to patients as well, including liver and hepatobiliary oncology, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) and genitourinary (reproductive system and genitourinary tract).
We strongly emphasize compassionate and personalized care that focuses on the whole patient. Our collaborative team includes highly skilled physicians, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurses, pathologists and other professionals who work tirelessly together to provide the best outcomes for our patients. Armed with detailed information, we design treatment plans to suit each patient’s specific needs. Potential approaches range from chemotherapy and outpatient or inpatient radiation therapy options (such as TomoTherapy) to immunotherapy and surgical intervention.
Cancer care isn’t just about treating a patient – it’s about treating the person and the loved ones behind the condition. That’s why cancer treatment at TGH also involves social, psychological, nutritional and financial counseling to patients as well.
