Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health and Rehabilitation Psychology
Tampa General is a private not-for-profit hospital ranked #1 in Tampa Bay by U.S. News & World Reports, Level 1 Trauma Center, certified burn and stroke center, CARF accredited, and has one of the largest transplant programs in the country. The primary goal of the APPIC-accredited Health and Rehabilitation Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is to develop professional psychologists who are competent, ethical, and prepared for independent practice in a variety of medical settings. Services are located at the main hospital, inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and outpatient center. There are two, one-year full-time health and rehabilitation psychology fellow positions available. There may be opportunities to supervise practicum students.
Program Schedule
Fellows complete two rotations for two days a week and switch rotations at six months. Fridays involve weekly didactics, department meetings, continuing education opportunities, scholarly or clinical projects, EPPP preparation, and additional clinical activities from rotations. Fellows complete one-year long program development project and present on clinical cases and a clinical topic to faculty.
Rotations
Rotations include consultation-liaison, transplant, bariatrics, oncology and palliative care, inpatient rehabilitation, NICU, pain, sleep, and neuropsychology. Pediatric experience is available in inpatient rehabilitation, consultation-liaison, NICU, and neuropsychology.
